Go New England Summer Cruising with American Cruise Line

The 2021 coastal New England cruise season is now underway with American Cruise Lines.

Since May, the new 175-passenger American Constitution, has been operating eight-day Cape Codder Cruises. These New England itineraries sail roundtrip from Boston and visit Gloucester, Plymouth, Martha’s Vineyard, Woods Hole, New Bedford, and Provincetown, MA.

If that’s not enticing enough, American Cruise Lines has several more New England itineraries beginning this month with three of their luxurious small ships sailing in the region through September.

The 8 day  Hudson River Fall Foliage Cruise sails from New York City up the Hudson, surrounded by the beauty of the Catskill Mountains  to the west and the Berkshires to the east.

-West Point: where guests can tour the West Point Military Academy and walk the hallowed grounds, traversed by some of the nation’s greatest generals.

-Kingston: where guests can visit ‘Millionaire’s Row’ and the historic Vanderbilt Mansion, home of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

-Hyde Park, the area known as the birthplace of the aforementioned president and up to

-Albany, the state’s capital.

Heading back down to NYC, guests will call into

-Catskill, the inspiration for many a 19th century landscape artist and

-Sleepy Hollow, forever immortalized in the works of one of America’s  great writers: Washington Irving.

President & CEO of American Cruise Lines Charles B. Robertson, does not see this as a hinderance, in fact, believes American Cruise Line’s concept of cruising close to home has just taken on an added benefit: “All our itineraries are roundtrip from New England cities and visit only U.S. ports, so many of our guests can drive straight to our ships, keeping their summer travel simple and easy.”

Robertson also strongly believes that “New England summers are best experienced from the water.”

The small ships also mean that the ships can dock in the center of each town’s action and the small-group explorations, all included in the cruise price, allow guests to make the most of the historic, quaint towns and villages New England is famous for.
