There’s new speculation that Walt Disney World may or may not drop their indoor mask mandate. That’s because with the current COVID-19 numbers in Orange County under the 5 percent threshold in cases. That’s why so many Disney guests can’t help but wonder: will they be able to take off their masks at the parks soon? Here’s what you need to know.
Here’s What You Need To Know About Disney’s Indoor Mask Mandate

Guests have been required to wear masks at all indoor facilities at Walt Disney World since July. “Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status,” the company says on their website. “This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions.”
While Disney has been rather quiet about the matter, needless to say there have been a lot of questions about it from fans online. Many people commented on social media with, “COVID spreads much much easier inside with barely any cases spread outside so yes it does make sense to wear a mask while in a crowded line vs. while walking down a crowded street,” along with, “Hey Disney World can you consider changing your indoor mask requirement? Legoland, Universal, SeaWorld dont require, only recommended masks. It is completely asinine that I can walk down main street in large crowd with no personal space without a mask but the moment I go indoors I need to put a mask on.”

The policy change happened this past summer and after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its guidance on mask wearing, recommending that everyone wear masks in public indoor settings, even if they have been vaccinated, in areas of “substantial or high transmission.” In outdoor common areas, masks remain optional for all visitors.
