Carnival Cruise Tips You Need To Know Before Boarding

Going on a Carnival Cruise is guaranteed to be a good time, but just how much do you know about this cruise ship line?

Even if you’ve cruised with another cruise company before, there are still a few differences that you need to be made aware of.

Before you get onboard your Carnival cruise ship, make certain that you check out these simple tips.

What do I need to know before going on a Carnival Cruise?

While the initial answer is “a lot”, it’s actually not all that complicated to get prepared for a Carnival cruise.

While the following tips will get you ready, it’s always a good idea to contact the cruise line directly for any questions that you might have pertaining to your upcoming trip.

Here are some of the most important Carnival Cruise tips to keep in mind before arriving at the port.

Carnival Cruise Tips To Know

These are just a few tips to help you feel better prepared and ready to launch.

Smoking is allowed on the ship

If you’re a smoker, smoking is allowed on the ship but only in certain designated areas.

And don’t worry, they’ll tell you those areas over and over again on the ship in case you have any questions or forget.

The easiest place to remember where smoking is allowed is in the casino area of the boat.

All other areas are on certain decks or areas that can be a bit more complicated to find.

Plastic containers are no longer allowed on board

Even if you’re just bringing in water to drink from your car to the ship, they’re going to take it away from you immediately.

Carnival no longer allows plastic bottles of any kind to be taken on board.

Metal cans filled with soda, etc are fine – it’s the plastic ones that are a big no-no.

There are ways to get free drinks on the boat

While you might not be a big drinker, it’s still nice to get a free drink or two while on board.

With drinks costing about $13-$15 per, a free drink here and there is a nice perk!

Attending art gallery showings or fun events at night will offer up one free drink per person here and there throughout your time on the ship.

Events fill up fast

You’ll notice that every day there will be an itinerary in your room, showcasing all the events that are going on for the day.

If you find one that you’re interested in, you need to arrive early to secure a spot.

Some ships have over 3,000 people on them and this means that everyone is looking for things to keep them occupied during those “days at sea”.

And if you’re taking your phone with you on the cruise, Carnival actually has a free app that you can download that allows you to choose activities on your phone and have reminders set to make certain that you don’t miss anything that you’re interested in.

The internet actually works on the cruise ship really well

You’ve probably read a few reviews here and there about the internet onboard the cruise ship, but if you’re looking for the best place to use the internet, it’s not going to be in your stateroom. Sitting out in common areas are the best areas to get the wi-fi signal so just pack up your charger, find a seat, and hook up to the ship’s wi-fi. (after you pay for it!)

The chef in the main dining area rocks

If you have the choice to go eat dinner in the main dining area, do so.

There is a chef that prepares the meals, and he/she rocks.

Not only do they serve unique dishes every night to try (frog legs, rabbit, ox tongue, etc.) but every meal is presented perfectly and tastes so good.

Plus, if you have a food allergy they can easily accommodate that as well.

Now that you know some of the best Carnival cruise tips, it’s time to get excited about your cruise!

Make certain that you wake up early in the morning and head up to the lido deck so you can see some of the most stunning sunrises of your life!
