To say not EVERYONE has been pleased by Disney taking over the Star Wars franchise is an understatement. However, one coup is the awesome Star Wars theming at the Disney parks and now onboard the brand new Disney Wish.

Though the Wish’s official inaugural cruise won’t set sail until July 14, it doesn’t mean there haven’t been some sneak peek cruises and this young padawan (okay, old and wrinkly Jedi wannabe) used all the force in her power to get herself on a preview cruise…and it worked!
Let’s talk all things Star Wars on board The Wish!
Firstly there are Star Wars spaces for adults (the Hyperspace Lounge on Deck 3) and for kids (The Cargo Bay, part of the Oceaneer’s Lab on Deck 2). Both spaces do cross over events so the whole family can get their Wookie on.
For now, though, we are going to talk about the Hyperspace Lounge.
During the day, anyone (including children) will be allowed in to look at the space and take photos. Kids, however, are unable to stay for the experience- this is a bar so it’s 21+.
One of the most sought after lounges on the ship, it means you will need a reservation to enjoy the full Hyperspace Lounge experience. Again, I Darth Vader’ed (or Kylo Ren’ed, depending on your age) my way in to an elusive 45 minute time allotment.
The first thing we noted was that they do NOT over pack the lounge, so you will get a great view of the theming and, the “wow factor” window to the galaxy behind the hard working bartenders.

It is what happens through this special window that the Hyperspace Lounge gets its name. Every 7 or so minutes, the “ship” you boarded jumps into hyperspace to take its thirsty travelers to different parts of the Star Wars galaxy. Coruscant, Endor, Mustafar, the asteroid belt etc., are all ‘destinations’ and wouldn’t you know it- these far flung locations just happen to be the names of the cock (or mock) tails served!
Some of the cocktails are regular fruity delights, others are served with a bubble of smoke on top (fun!) Order a glass of wine and your bartender becomes a contortionist as they maneuver the galaxy’s trickiest decanter.
If you have $5000 to blow, you can order the Kaiburr Crystal cocktail, touted touted as “the galaxy’s rarest and [most] valuable cocktail”. Served to you in a camtono, the cylindrical ‘safe’ from The Empire Strikes Back that popped up later in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
While you will not get to keep the camtono, you will keep the silver plated glass that your cocktail is served in along with a bunch of Star Wars merch, like a backpack and water bottle, a Hyperspace-themed room decoration, a bottle of personalized sparkling wine from Skywalker Vineyards and a “Star Wars-themed escort off the ship” (whatever that means).

The piece de resistance: a voucher to visit Skywalker Ranch. That is ONE voucher…you will be visiting George Lucas’ home alone (unless you shell out another $5K).
I have no way of telling you what the cocktail tastes like, there was no jedi mind-tricking my way onto that one!
Never the less, I, and other die hard fans will love the cool automatic doors (complete with air compression ‘pppsssshhhh’), the sparse but detailed props and, of course, staring out the window to the galaxy beyond as you prepare to jump into hyperspace!

Meet me in Endor?
