While it definitely appears as though more and more countries are opening their doors for American travelers this summer, there are still plenty of precautions that you need to keep in mind before booking your next trip abroad. There’s a new report that says the State Department has relaxed their travel advisories for Americans visiting Israel along with the UK prompting a lot of people to ask, is this the right time to travel? Even though more and more people are getting vaccinated every day and cases are dropping just about everywhere, the CDC is still recommending against any leisurely travel this summer. Currently, the UK has been reduced from a Level 4: Do Not Travel rating to a Level 3: Reconsider Travel while Israel is at a Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution. It’s also been noted that Israel is one of the world’s most vaccinated countries per capita, although it’s not currently allowing many foreign tourists to enter  the country.

With that said, Israel did announce last month that it will begin allowing travelers who are fully vaccinated into the country as long as they can prove that they have an Israeli family member. Beginning May 23 though, Israel will begin welcoming vaccinated group tours. That will be followed by the eventual return of fully vaccinated individual tourists, which could be as soon as July.

However, there’s also something else to keep in mind. As of press time, there has been rising tension between Israel and the Palestinians, amid overnight rocket attacks. Reports say that in the last 24 hours the violence has been flaring up in the southern Gaza Strip.
