An On Board Sneak Peek of the Disney Wish: Main Dining!

An On Board Sneak Peek of the Disney Wish: Main Dining!

The Disney Wish will begin its revenue generating cruises in less than a week- however a certain someone with two smug thumbs and a whole lotta luck (yeah, this guy) has already had the opportunity to experience what Disney’s latest, and largest in its fleet, has to offer its guests.

Spoiler: it includes a whole lot of magic.

This article is all about the three main dining experiences on board the brand new and highly anticipated Disney Wish.

And experiences they are.

As per usual, guest of all ages can enjoy three main, heavily themed restaurants.

Your travel party will (as with the other four DCL ships) pick up a few extras who will follow you through the cruise-designated dinner rotation — your serving team.

This is a delightful touch that Disney will not, and should not, ever remove from their ships.

The dinner setting at 1923

The deck three dining room, 1923 is actually separated into two dining spaces, serving the exact same menu.

The Walt Disney is on the port side, the Roy Disney on the starboard.

Spread across two spaces are over 1000 drawings and props from animated classics through the ages.

1923, named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, is the most subdue and sophisticated of the dining experiences.

Think an upmarket Animators Palate that has come of age and locked its stuffed animals in the closet.

The food takes center stage with the appetizers too delectable to choose only one (so we didn’t deprive ourselves) and the filet mignon pleasing all parties at the table (whose steak cooking preferences ran the gamut from “mooing” to “tough old boot”).

Worlds of Marvel will have Avengers fans salivating!

Deck four boasts the line’s first  Marvel-themed restaurant, Worlds of Marvel.

This interactive experience has diners seated amongst Tony Stark inspired architecture while being entertained by Ant Man and The Wasp themselves, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.

Broadcast across huge television screens all throughout the restaurant, Ant-Man and the Wasp amuse guests with their Pym Particle shenanigans (ever wondered what a ginormous towel animal would look like?), but when things go awry, the pair call on the help of some of their other superhero friends to help save The Wish, culminating in a Marvel-lous action scene filmed right there on The Wish’s outdoor deck.

Marvel fans will also get a kick out of the (seemingly never-ending) Marvel hero character bios and sequences projected throughout the night, along with the Worlds of Marvel menu, featuring dishes from real and fictional locations, including Wakanda and Sokovia.

Fun props on each table make the experience interactive, as does a surprise (well, not anymore) visit from the flesh and blood Ant-Man and Wasp.

Watch for some unexpected dinner guests!

If you are less of a Marvel and more of an animation fan you will undoubtedly enjoy deck five’s “chilled out” restaurant-de-resistance- Arendelle.

If you haven’t already been able to put the pieces together, yes, Arendelle is a Frozen themed restaurant where guests are invited to Anna and Kristoff’s engagement party- complete with a full dinner show.

With ringside seats to the stage, our table loved the performances, but no need to despair if your table is a little further from the action.

Movie favorites like Kristoff, Anna, Elsa, (steal the show) “hoo-hoo” Oaken and crowd-pleaser Olaf will visit your table as you chow down.

Olaf will always please the Frozen fans

Disney Cruise Line is well known to create an immersive experience for their diners however, The Wish has taken it a step further with their dinner time entertainment at 1923, Worlds of Marvel and Arendelle.

Final consensus? Two (smug) thumbs up for the Wish’s main dining- including for the never flustered, always accommodating servers.
